In the beginning, both Zündapp and BMW produced their motorcycles with various types of speedometers.
First models of Zündapp KS 750 had speedometers calibrated to 120 kilometers. Captions were placed underside the glass. There were also VEIGEL speedometers with captions on the face. Location of K amounted to 1,0 and was, as well as the production date, imprinted at the bottom of the casing.
First BWMs R75 had VEIGEL speedometers calibrated to 140 kilometers.
This speedometer was calibrated later to 100 kilometers and since 1942 had been standardized and produced by VDO and VEIGEL for Zündapp KS750 and BMW R75. Captions are placed on the inner-side of the glass.
